Today at recess Braxton found a butterfly. It was cool. It had black arownd the yellow spots. There were lots of peopal arownd him. Hi picked three girls to help him take care of it. He chose me and Jaden and 2 more sinse they were begging. He did not want to hear it any more. So then he picked Kaitlyn and Caitlin. Braxton chose us because he likes us. It cood not fly. Today at last recess I played Kick the Ball Over the Fence. Mr. Gall said, "I think that you just did the most amazing play of the year. Because I had a ball in my hand and me and Mr. Gall were chasing after a diffrent ball and he almost got the other ball and I threw my ball I had in my hand and I hit the ball we were chasing so then I got both of the balls and he said "Wow I think that was the most amazing play I have seen this whole intyre year. Today we watched Matilda. It's one of my favorite movies now. It was my very first time watching it. We just finished the book. By the way Mr. Gall's cousin has a daughter named Matilda. But they call her Tilly. Today my dad was in the second grade hall because he was talking to the boys about football camp. Today at mornning recess we played Kick the Ball Over the Fense. Mr. Gall was kicking the ball. It was really high in the air and I caught it and it hit my arm really hard. It hurt a lot. But that is not all. I was kicking a really hard ball and my leg got red from it. So I started to kick the softer balls then. I kick them really high in the air to. When we plade Kick the Ball Over the Fense the other side kept kicking them. We had no balls for a long long long time. I kept finding the little ball way way out in the field. -Nicole's journal

On Saturday my sister Mikayla had her friend Briget spind the night. We stayed up late and played scool. Then on Sunday it was hot so me, Briget, Mikayla and Logan went on a walk. We went and saw my mom and dads friends Jack and Polly. Polly and Jack had some donets. Polly had a litttle hat that came with donets. The hat was cute. Everybody tried the hat on exceped Logan. We had some of the donets. The donets were yummy. On our way back home we saw a Dalmatian. It was late! Sunday we also went to see Brigets boy friend Tommys house. I went to the Carl Anderson "Assessing Writers" conference today. Mr. Anderson is an excellent presenter. Both times I have heard him speak, I have returned with terrific ideas on how to take our "Writer's Workshop" to a higher level. -Mr. Gall

Today we had a substitute. Her name was Mrs. Hackett. Shes really nice. She teaches piano & she gave me her phone numer, what she teaches & her address. I'm going to ask my mom if I can do piano because I have a piano at home & I can practice. But I'm not sure if my mom will say yes or no. But I hope she says yes! -Mackenzie's journal
