I graduated from NorthWood High School in 1990. I received my Bachelor's degree in elementary education from Purdue University in 1994. In 2005 I completed my Master's program through I.U. - Bloomington's distance education program in Instructional Systems Technology.

I began teaching in 1995 at Eastlawn Elementary School. I taught there for five years, then began my career at Bremen in 2000. The 2007-08 school year marks my 13th year of teaching (all second grade.)

My wife, Kristi, and I have three children. Twin daughters, Kylee and Makenna (born in 2001) and son Landen (born in 2006.) We live in Nappanee and attend Wakarusa Missionary Church.

Kristi and I were honored to be named Nappanee's 2003 Citizens of the Year for our work coordinating the Little Paws Playground Project.

In addition to teaching, I run a small web development business out of my home.
